The Chocolate Challenge

This challenge simulates a complete business process from initial concept through design, production, marketing and promotion. It's all done in a light-hearted and highly creative environment requiring co-operation, mental and artistic skills (and several pounds of chocolate!).

Participants are divided into teams of approximately five to undertake various challenges. These range from piping names on chef's hats (in chocolate, of course), producing chocolate self-portraits and creating an original branded box of chocolates.

Using creative thinking, teams must seek out a gap in the chocolate box market and come up with an original product to fill it. As a team they then have just 90 minutes to turn their idea into reality. They must construct and decorate the box, make the chocolates from raw ingredients, calculate their profit margin and film a TV commercial. The finished products are later assessed for quality, profitability and originality and prizes are awarded to the winning team. Each aspect of the performance is then reviewed to draw out parallels with day-to-day working life.

While this activity will produce great benefit on its own, we recommend a facilitator to achieve best results.

We understand that when a team has fun, it becomes more effective and relationships grow stronger. Fresh Tracks bridge the gap between traditional classroom based team training and more physical outdoor team building experiences.
