EVENT: Carbon Positive Challenge
Don't just be carbon neutral, be carbon positive!
There's
been a great deal of talk recently about business becoming 'carbon neutral'.
Travel being one of the greatest contributors of carbon emissions means
that the conference and training industry is particularly keen to find
ways to minimise its impact. We can't alter the fact that people need
to travel to a conference and even if we all use public transport there
would still be a carbon footprint.
Our solution hasn't simply been to buy carbon credits but instead to develop a series of Carbon Positive events and activities. For instance by planting trees or maintaining native woodland as part of a team building activity the result would have a positive and lasting impact and could more than offset your carbon output and potentially offset your annual carbon footprint.
The Woodland Trust has calculated that it takes 7 trees 100 years to offset 1.4 tonnes of carbon which is equivalent to one round trip to New York.

Showcase Event - Tuesday 6th November 2007
Back in June
this year FreshTracks joined with Dr Brian Marien and Bridget Juniper
to host a seminar exploring the link between productivity and wellbeing
in the workplace. Those who attended where sufficiently impressed to encourage
us to develop a two day programme looking at this subject in greater depth.
A showcase for this programme will take place in central London on Tuesday 6th November. Places are very limited and cost £50.00 + VAT per person registration fee but this fee will be waived for readers of Team Talk.
