Values Mosaic

Participants design and create one or more mosaics which should include a key word or image that illustrates the team's values; to display the finished mosaic(s) as a complete work of art at the end of the session.

Working in small teams, the group is given access to all the tools and equipment they need to create a beautiful mosaic. Teams are encouraged to think about some of the key values represented within the group and how these can be represented within their mosaic. The session then starts with a brief demonstration of the key tasks and skills involved in mosaic work before the teams are given a set time in which to design and glue their mosaics into place. The pieces can represent words or images and can include found objects. Once the mosaics have had time to dry they are grouted and polished ready for display either as individual pieces or as group artwork.

Activities Include:
Designing a mosaic; working with tile adhesive and glass tiles in a range of colours to assemble the finished piece onto board; grouting and polishing the finished mosaics; creating a piece of group artwork in which to display the finished mosaics.

While this activity will produce great benefit on its own, we recommend a facilitator to achieve best results.

We understand that when a team has fun, it becomes more effective and relationships grow stronger. Fresh Tracks bridge the gap between traditional classroom based team training and more physical outdoor team building experiences.
