The Science Museum
They say that there's no 'I' in team but a brand new partnership between the Science Museum and Fresh Tracks has been established specifically to put the SC'I' in team. An innovative new range of team building activities has been launched to utilise the diverse content, collections, curatorial expertise and numerous events spaces that the award-winning Science Museum has to offer.
Infinitely flexible, these activities can be adapted for small groups of 10, right up to 500 delegates and can be tailored to complement any away-day or conference programme, with short energiser sessions, half or full-day options available. Packages including full-day venue hire, basic catering and professional event management on the day start from £103.50 + VAT*, per head.

The team building activities
Check out the range of Science Museum team building activities listed below (please note that the activity costs do not include venue and catering**):
Treasures of the Science Museum
Discover the treasures of the Science Museum using our unique science treasure hunt that explores all areas of the museum. During this treasure hunt teams will work together on photographic and scientific challenges as well as cryptic and mental puzzles. A range of skills and problem-solving abilities will be needed within the team to solve problems and come up with the answers.
Cost: £1000 + VAT for up to 18 participants; £30 to £55 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for any size of group.
The Team Machine
A high-energy, large-scale team exercise requiring co-operation across the whole group to achieve a common goal. Teams create individual mechanisms that, when combined with others in the correct sequence trigger a chain reaction to create an explosive finale! The Team Machine demonstrates the hidden value of co-operation and the danger of unnecessary rivalry between teams that serve the same organisation.
Cost: £1200 + VAT for up to 13 participants; £65 to £95 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for groups of up to 100.
The Science of Teams
From creating an alternative universe to building an electric dragster, these tailored team building challenges are a series of mildly competitive, science-based exercises requiring input from all team members to achieve success. The various challenges require a mix of logical, creative, physical and artistic skills as well as effective planning and communication, which means that no one individual can dominate successive tasks. Typically each team exercise can last for between 15 and 45 minutes, normally followed by a facilitated review. This programme is tailored to the individual group and includes facilitation to examine team strengths and specific learning points.
Cost: £1500 + VAT for up to 18 participants; £35 to £85 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for any size of group.
Chocolate Laboratory
The Chocolate Laboratory is a great team development activity that simulates a complete business process from initial concept through design, production, marketing and promotion. Teams are asked to come up with a science-themed chocolate product and then begin to work through their product development tasks: first they must seek out a gap in the chocolate box market and come up with an original product to fill it that could be sold here at the museum; as a team they then have just 90 minutes to turn their idea into reality. They must construct and decorate the box, make the chocolates from raw ingredients, calculate their profit margin and create a TV commercial. The finished products are later assessed for quality, profitability and originality and adherence to the science theme. Finally, prizes are awarded to the winning team. It's all done in a light-hearted and highly creative environment requiring co-operation, mental and artistic skills (and several pounds of chocolate!).
Cost: £1500 + VAT for up to 16 participants; £50 to £95 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for any size of group.
Team Experiments
How about testing the laws of gravity or creating engineering marvels? These fun & informal 'Team Experiments' are great as energisers and icebreakers at your staff conference and at the same time get people talking and finding out more about each other.
Cost: £1000 + VAT for up to 18 participants; £30 to £55 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for any size of group.
Black Cab Chase
A competitive treasure hunt challenge around the streets of London. Each team is assigned to a Black Cab and issued with a set of tasks that will include mental, collection and photographic challenges. Each team must complete these as they explore various areas of the city to complete their tasks within a limited time, returning to the venue before the expiry of the deadline. Penalty points will be conceded for late arrivals!
Cost: £1200 + VAT for up to 12 participants; £85 to £125 + VAT
per additional participant dependent on group size.
Timings: Half day activity for any size of group.
