In twenties America, stunt pilots would impress crowds by performing low altitude aerobatics, often close to barn roofs. Back in England our barns were simply being used to house farm machinery and animals.
Nearly 100 years later tractors are too big to fit inside old barns and animal welfare requires modern purpose built structures. Once dilapidated oak framed barns have increasingly been turned into function spaces, ideal not just for weddings but also team building.
Unpredictable weather can be the greatest threat to a successful team away day, so using barns ensures that many outdoor activities can be brought indoors if the rain pours or temperatures drop. Typically there is ample parking and plentiful daylight. Additionally the unique structure of a barn creates a very different feel to a low ceiling-ed office or conference room, literally giving more ‘head space’.
Along with our own very rustic barn in Hertfordshire we have partnered with a number of venues featuring converted barns close to London and other cities. If you want to achieve an ‘out of town’ feeling that the weather can’t spoil, talk to us about the barn nearest you.
