When reflecting recently on some of life’s failures it dawned on me that failure and success go hand in hand. Without risking failure we are very unlikely to experience success. Here are some thoughts that seem to underpin this, from some truly successful people.
A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new – Albert Einstein
When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it. – Henry Ford
Nothing is impossible, the word itself says, “I’m possible!” – Audrey Hepburn
Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can’t lose – Bill Gates
Failure is a great teacher but it’s far better to learn from our mistakes without damaging the business. Experiential learning enables participants to fail without serious consequences. Alongside the practical experience there’s also the time and support to fully reflect on the behaviours that impede success.
