2020 saw a big hit to the bottom lines of many events companies which meant many trade shows and team building activities were put on hold until the covid situation improved.
Whilst many are apprehensive about getting back to live events, the industry seems to be gathering some momentum, and the fitness industry appears to be getting back into the swing of things, with many trade shows taking place and many more planned around the globe.
How are organisers adapting
Many organisers are looking at hybrid events, with speakers submitting talks from around the world, and recordings of the events making it easier than ever to catch up on the stuff that’s missed for those who cannot attend.
Whilst we cannot say for certain whether live events are set to return for good, there is a lot of demand for team building and general conferences with many businesses starved of face to face human interaction for over 18 months.
In terms of what the team building industry can learn from some of the in-person conferences currently running, we need to be accepting that different people will have different levels of comfort when it comes to in-person interaction. Some may be willing to interact more closely with others whilst some attendees may be more cautious. Introducing something like a traffic light system will help people stay mindful of each other, and you should always be willing to adapt your approach if it is not working.
We at Fresh Tracks are passionate about the impact in-person events can have on a team’s morale and development, so get in touch with a member of our team if you would like to find out more about what our events are set to have in store.
