The Team Machine

Created by Fresh Tracks this energetic indoor or outdoor, large scale team building event requiring participants to co-operate with other teams to achieve a common goal. The Team Machine demonstrates the hidden value of co-operation and the danger of unnecessary rivalry between teams that serve the same organisation.

Each team is given a set of building materials to create a moving sculpture. The plans are muddled requiring sharing of data before building can commence. The group then set to work on their devices ranging from a launch device, to a helter-skelter. Components must be assembled in just the right way for the individual mechanisms to work. Later the teams must work together to find the correct sequence of mechanisms, so that, once launched each element will trigger the next in a chain reaction building to an explosive finale!

To successfully complete this team building activity teams must:
- Build free-standing mechanisms, some up to 6ft high,
- collaborate and negotiate between teams,
- assemble the complete Team Machine sequence,
- launch of the final mechanism.

The learning from this exercise can be increased through the use of a facilitator who will introduce the task, review progress throughout and debrief afterwards to ensure lessons learned can be matched to opportunities to improve performance in the workplace.

Duration: 90 mins to Full Day
Location: Hotels, conference centres or client's own premises. Indoor or outdoor.
Dress: Casual wear
Investment: £1620 + VAT for a group of up to 12 participants; from £65 - £95 per additional participant.
